Yahoo has unveiled a hilarious new ploy to try to keep users from jumping off its search site. We’re hoping it’s only the first of many similar steps to come.

The tidbit pops up when you search for a competing search engine at Yahoo.com — Google, Ask, or Live, for example. Yahoo returns the results with a friendly little plea above them:

“You could go to Google. Or you could stay here and get straight to your answers.”

We find this to be quite humorous and wonder what other “influential” messages might start popping up above specific Yahoo searches. Here are a few we’d like to see soon:
