A new social dating service has a very important feature: Within five minutes, it can significantly boost your self-esteem — and all you have to do is sit back and watch.

Here’s the deal: The site, called WooMe, has started publicly posting people’s private video dates in a new feature called WooMeTV. (The people both have to approve the sharing after the “date” has ended for it to go live.) As you might expect, most people are more inept at intergender relations than Yahoo is at running a successful search business. The end result, then, is that no matter how awkward or unsure you are of your own social abilities, you’ll end up feeling like a Don Juan once you finishing watching some of these interactions.

Take, for example, this date:

What it boils down to is that the site has the “horrible reality show” effect: It’s godawful, you know it’s godawful, you don’t want to watch it — yet you do. And you keep doing it. It’s so bad, you just can’t turn away.
