In order to pass Florida BAR exam you are tested on sanity, and qualifications. I wounder when Jack Thomson actually went insane? is it possible that he simply has minor disorder such as bipolar or Schizophrenia that worsened but he was still able to practice law? or maybe he is sane individual who lacks common sense and likes to “challenge” the system, other vice how did he retained BAR license? HOW!!!!!??!??

To Dan Webber: I’m not entirely sure what point you were trying to make, but re-read the sentence.

The makers of gaming webcomic Penny Arcade donated the money on his behalf to the Child’s Play charity for sick children.

You basically just pointed out something that had already been recgonized. Yes, they gave the money to a charity that gives charity to children. I’m not sure why that matters, it’s still a donation.

In any case, I’ve never heard of Jack Thompson (this link was given to me by a friend) but he definitely needed to go away. What a psycho.

Hmmm I was expecting the time Rockstar Games sucessfully sued him for libel after he shot his mouth of about GTA one too many times would have been in here.

You know, i think i’m actually gonna miss Ol’ Jackie…all these stories are pretty much the funniest thing i get to see. every time Jack does something crazy i just love to hear about it and laugh and feel superior.

I hate to say that Jack Thompson was asking for it, I really do, because it’s not funny when anyone loses their job. However, he really didn’t seem like he was mentally competent enough to practice law. Some of the things that he said and did were, well, quite frankly insane, and when someone tries to bar someone from giving money to a charity that helps sick children, you really have to wonder what’s going through their head.

Child’s Play is their own charity. They gave the money to another charity, as you can see at the link you provided.
